A rich and creamy no-bake brownie batter dip that pairs perfectly with salty pretzels, offering a quick and indulgent treat for gatherings or snack time.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened (full-fat recommended)
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt
  • Pretzels for dipping (twists or sticks)

Instructions

  1. Soften cream cheese and butter by leaving them at room temperature for at least 30 minutes.
  2. In a mixing bowl, beat cream cheese and butter together with an electric mixer on medium speed until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
  3. Gradually add powdered sugar on low speed to avoid a sugar cloud, then increase speed to medium and whip for another minute.
  4. Add cocoa powder, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt. Beat on low then medium speed until the mixture is uniform, glossy, and smooth, about 1-2 minutes.
  5. Taste and adjust sweetness or chocolate intensity if desired. Optionally fold in mini chocolate chips or espresso powder.
  6. Cover and refrigerate the dip for at least 30 minutes to let flavors meld and texture firm up.
  7. Serve chilled or at room temperature with pretzels or other dippers like fresh fruit.

Notes

Use room temperature cream cheese and butter to avoid lumps. Add powdered sugar slowly to prevent a sugar dust cloud. Sift cocoa powder before adding to avoid clumps. Chill dip for at least 30 minutes before serving. Let sit at room temperature for 10 minutes if too stiff. Best enjoyed within 3 days and not recommended to freeze.
