A creamy, cheesy, bacon-loaded slow cooker chicken recipe that’s easy to make with just 5 ingredients. Perfect for busy weeknights, potlucks, or family dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 6 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 1 packet (about 1 ounce) ranch seasoning mix
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Cook 6 slices of bacon until crisp, then crumble and set aside.
  2. Place 2 pounds of boneless, skinless chicken breasts evenly in the bottom of the slow cooker.
  3. Cube 8 ounces of softened cream cheese and scatter over the chicken.
  4. Sprinkle 1 packet of ranch seasoning evenly on top.
  5. Cover and cook on low for 6-7 hours or on high for 3-4 hours until chicken is tender.
  6. Shred the chicken directly in the slow cooker using tongs or forks.
  7. Stir in 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese and the crumbled bacon.
  8. Replace the lid and cook for another 10-15 minutes until the cheese melts.
  9. Taste and add salt or pepper if needed.
  10. Serve warm over buns, rice, or with steamed vegetables.

Notes

Softening the cream cheese before adding prevents lumps. Pre-cook bacon on stovetop for crispier texture. Shred chicken while warm for juicier results. Avoid lifting the slow cooker lid frequently to maintain heat. Adjust salt carefully as bacon and ranch seasoning add saltiness.
