These adorable chocolate-coated strawberries shaped like little bunnies are a quick and easy spring dessert perfect for Easter, parties, or a fun snack. They combine fresh strawberries with smooth semisweet chocolate and a touch of white chocolate for decoration.

Ingredients

Scale
  • Fresh strawberries, medium to large size, firm but ripe
  • 8 ounces semisweet chocolate chips
  • 2 ounces white chocolate chips (optional, for decorating tails and eyes)
  • 1 teaspoon vegetable or coconut oil
  • Mini chocolate chips or edible markers (optional, for eyes and nose details)
  • Parchment paper or silicone baking mat

Instructions

  1. Wash and dry strawberries thoroughly, patting completely dry to avoid moisture.
  2. Melt semisweet chocolate chips with 1 teaspoon of vegetable or coconut oil in 20-second bursts in the microwave, stirring until smooth and glossy. Alternatively, melt using a double boiler.
  3. Hold a strawberry by the green leafy top and dip into the melted chocolate, coating about two-thirds of the berry, leaving the top exposed to form bunny ears. Let excess chocolate drip back into the bowl.
  4. Place dipped strawberries on a parchment-lined baking sheet spaced apart to prevent sticking.
  5. (Optional) Create clearer bunny ears by trimming strawberry tops before dipping or shaping chocolate with the back of a spoon while wet.
  6. Melt white chocolate chips the same way as semisweet chocolate. Drizzle or pipe a small dollop on the back of each strawberry to form a bunny tail.
  7. Add eyes and nose details using mini chocolate chips or edible markers. A toothpick dipped in melted chocolate can also be used for detail.
  8. Chill the baking sheet in the refrigerator for about 20 minutes to allow the chocolate to harden.

Notes

Ensure strawberries are completely dry before dipping to prevent chocolate from seizing. Use a teaspoon of oil to thin chocolate for a glossy finish. Work quickly as chocolate hardens fast. Chill treats to set chocolate properly. Avoid frozen strawberries as chocolate may crack. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
