A quick and easy fresh mango margarita with a spicy Tajin rim, perfect for summer gatherings. This silky smooth cocktail balances sweet mango, zesty lime, and smoky tequila for a refreshing treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 large ripe mangoes, peeled and chopped
  • 1 cup (240 ml) tequila blanco
  • ½ cup (120 ml) fresh lime juice (about 4 limes)
  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) agave syrup
  • ¼ cup (60 ml) triple sec or orange liqueur (optional)
  • 2 cups ice cubes
  • Tajin seasoning for rimming glasses
  • Coarse sea salt mixed with Tajin for rim
  • Lime wedges for garnish and rimming glasses

Instructions

  1. Place peeled and chopped mangoes into a blender. Add fresh lime juice, agave syrup, and triple sec if using. Blend on high for about 1 minute until smooth and creamy. Add a splash of water or more lime juice if too thick.
  2. Add tequila blanco and ice cubes to the blender. Pulse for 30 seconds to combine and chill, avoiding over-blending to keep a slushy texture.
  3. Mix equal parts Tajin seasoning and coarse sea salt on a shallow plate. Rub a lime wedge around the rim of each glass, then dip rims into the Tajin-salt mixture to coat evenly. Set glasses aside.
  4. Pour the mango margarita into the prepared glasses. Garnish with a lime wedge or a thin mango slice.
  5. Serve immediately while cold and refreshing.

Notes

Prepare mango puree ahead and keep chilled; add tequila and ice just before serving to maintain freshness. Rim glasses just before serving to keep the Tajin-salt mix crunchy. Use ripe mangoes for best flavor. Frozen mango can be used if thawed and drained. Avoid over-blending ice to prevent watery texture. Freezing glasses briefly keeps margarita icy longer.
