A quick and easy summer cocktail blending fresh watermelon, lime, tequila, and a hint of sweetness for a refreshing and crowd-pleasing drink.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups (600g) fresh seedless watermelon, chopped
  • 1 cup (240ml) tequila blanco
  • ½ cup (120ml) fresh lime juice
  • ½ cup (120ml) triple sec
  • ¼ cup (60ml) simple syrup
  • 2 cups (300g) ice cubes
  • Coarse salt, for rimming glasses (optional)
  • Lime wedges, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Remove seeds if needed, then chop about 4 cups (600g) of fresh watermelon into chunks.
  2. Squeeze ½ cup (120ml) of fresh lime juice, usually about 4-5 medium limes. Roll limes first to get the most juice out.
  3. Add watermelon chunks, lime juice, tequila blanco, triple sec, simple syrup, and ice cubes into a blender. Pulse until smooth and slushy but not watery, aiming for a thick consistency.
  4. Rub a lime wedge along the rim of each glass, then dip into coarse salt on a small plate to coat evenly.
  5. Pour the margarita mix into the prepared glasses, garnish with a lime wedge, and serve immediately.

Notes

If the margarita is too thick, add a splash of cold water or extra lime juice and blend briefly. If too thin, add more ice or frozen watermelon chunks. Rimming glasses with salt balances sweetness and enhances flavor. For a non-alcoholic version, replace tequila and triple sec with sparkling water and a splash of orange juice.
