  • Coffee bar garnishes: cinnamon sticks, star anise pods, orange peel curls (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Witch’s Brew Syrup: In a medium saucepan, combine 1 cup packed brown sugar and 1 cup water. Add a cinnamon stick, 1 star anise pod, and a pinch of smoked paprika. Bring to a gentle boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally to dissolve sugar. Once boiling, reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. Let cool slightly, strain out spices if desired, pour into a jar, and refrigerate.
  2. Make the Black Cat Vanilla Syrup: Combine 1 cup granulated sugar and 1 cup water in a saucepan. Split a vanilla bean lengthwise or add 1 tablespoon vanilla extract. Add 1 teaspoon black cocoa powder and 1 tablespoon blackstrap molasses if using. Bring to a boil, stirring to dissolve sugar and cocoa. Reduce heat and simmer for 8-10 minutes, whisking occasionally. Remove from heat, discard vanilla bean if used, let cool, then store.
  3. Prepare the Pumpkin Patch Spice Syrup: In a saucepan, mix 1 cup packed brown sugar with 1 cup water. Whisk in 2 tablespoons pumpkin puree, 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon, 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg, 1/4 teaspoon cloves, and 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly, then reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes. Remove from heat, stir in 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. Allow to cool and strain if preferred. Transfer to storage jar.
  4. Set up your coffee bar: Arrange syrups in glass jars with labels, set out mugs, spoons, cinnamon sticks, and other garnishes. Brew fresh coffee using your preferred method. Let guests or yourself add syrups to taste using a ladle or small spoon. Enjoy the cozy atmosphere.

Notes

If syrup crystallizes in the fridge, gently warm it before use to restore liquid consistency. Use fresh spices for best flavor. Add vanilla extract after removing from heat to preserve aroma. Syrups keep well refrigerated for up to two weeks. For dairy-free creamers, substitute water with almond or oat milk in syrups. Syrups can be used in lattes, hot chocolate, or drizzled over desserts.
