A quick and easy recipe for crispy, flavorful chicken wings cooked in an air fryer without any oil, coated with garlic and parmesan for a savory punch.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds chicken wings, split into flats and drumettes
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ cup (50 g) grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon aluminum-free baking powder
  • 1 clove fresh garlic, minced (optional)

Instructions

  1. Pat the chicken wings dry thoroughly with paper towels (about 5 minutes).
  2. In a large bowl, combine baking powder, garlic powder, paprika, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  3. Add the wings to the bowl and toss until each wing is evenly coated with the dry mixture.
  4. Arrange the wings in a single layer in the air fryer basket, leaving space between them.
  5. Cook at 400°F (200°C) for 20 minutes, flipping the wings halfway through at 10 minutes.
  6. While wings cook, mix grated Parmesan and minced fresh garlic in a small bowl.
  7. When wings are cooked through and crispy (internal temperature 165°F/74°C), transfer to a large bowl and toss immediately with the Parmesan-garlic mixture.
  8. Serve warm and enjoy.

Notes

Patting the wings dry is essential for crispiness. Use aluminum-free baking powder to help crisp the skin without oil. Avoid overcrowding the air fryer basket for even cooking. Flip wings halfway through cooking. Freshly grated Parmesan sticks better than pre-grated. For dairy-free, substitute Parmesan with nutritional yeast. Reheat leftovers in the air fryer at 350°F for 5-7 minutes to restore crispiness.
