A simple, crowd-pleasing game day snack board built around salty pretzels, a mix of cheeses, meats, and fresh produce. It comes together in under 20 minutes and is designed for easy grabbing during the game.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 bag (12 ounces) pretzel rods
  • 2 cups pretzel twists or mini pretzels
  • 8 ounces sharp cheddar cheese, sliced into thin squares
  • 6 ounces Pepper Jack cheese, sliced
  • 6 ounces Gouda or smoked Gouda, sliced
  • 1 cup cheese dip or beer cheese, store-bought or homemade
  • 1/4 cup spicy brown mustard
  • 6 ounces salami or pepperoni slices
  • 4 ounces prosciutto, torn into ribbons
  • 1 cup red or green grapes
  • 1 apple, thinly sliced (tossed with lemon juice)
  • 1/2 cup cherry tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup pickles or cornichons
  • 1/2 cup mixed nuts (cashews or almonds)
  • Fresh herbs (rosemary sprigs or thyme) for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Place your large board on the counter. If using parchment, cut it to fit the board.
  2. Set up small bowls for cheese dip, mustard, and pickles in different corners of the board.
  3. Place the pretzel rods in a line down the center of the board, like yard lines on a football field. Scatter mini pretzels around the edges.
  4. Fan out the sliced cheddar, Pepper Jack, and Gouda in small clusters around the board.
  5. Fold the salami slices into quarters and pile them near one corner. Tear the prosciutto into ribbons and place them near the cheese dip.
  6. Scatter the grapes, apple slices, and cherry tomatoes in the remaining empty spaces.
  7. Sprinkle the mixed nuts in small clusters around the board. Place the pickles near the mustard bowl.
  8. Microwave the beer cheese or cheese dip for 30 seconds, stir, then another 15 seconds. Pour it into a small bowl and place it on the board right before serving.
  9. Tuck a few rosemary sprigs around the board for garnish. Serve immediately.

Notes

Keep cheese at room temperature for best flavor. Warm the cheese dip right before serving. Do not overcrowd the board; leave about an inch of space between clusters. Prep all ingredients before kickoff for quick assembly.
