An easy and delicious slow cooker recipe for a honey glazed spiral ham with a sticky, caramelized crust and juicy, tender meat inside. Perfect for busy weeknights or special occasions with minimal prep and fuss.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 to 8 pounds pre-cooked bone-in spiral ham
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup Dijon mustard
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup pineapple juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)

Instructions

  1. Remove any packaging and place the spiral ham into the crockpot, cut side down.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together honey, Dijon mustard, brown sugar, pineapple juice, ground cloves, and garlic powder until smooth.
  3. Pour the glaze evenly over the ham, making sure it seeps into the spiral slices. Use a basting brush or spoon to coat the sides.
  4. Cover the crockpot and cook on LOW for 4 to 6 hours, or on HIGH for 2 to 3 hours if in a rush.
  5. About halfway through cooking, baste the ham with the juices in the crockpot to keep it moist and flavorful (optional).
  6. When done, turn off the crockpot and let the ham rest inside for 10-15 minutes with the lid off.
  7. Transfer the ham to a serving platter. Use the juices from the crockpot as a light sauce or simmer on the stove for 5 minutes to thicken if desired.

Notes

Use pre-cooked spiral ham for best results. Basting halfway through cooking helps build flavor layers. Tent with foil if glaze darkens too much. Pineapple juice adds moisture and brightness. For a maple twist, substitute honey with maple syrup and add cinnamon. Can finish under broiler for 3-5 minutes for a caramelized crust. Adjust cooking time for boneless ham or smaller portions.
