A quick and easy peach iced tea recipe that combines fresh ripe peaches with black tea and honey for a naturally sweet, refreshing summer drink.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 black tea bags
  • 2 large fresh ripe peaches
  • 2 tablespoons honey (or agave/simple syrup as substitute)
  • 4 cups (1 liter) filtered or spring water
  • Ice cubes (homemade with peach slices optional)
  • Fresh mint leaves (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Bring 4 cups (1 liter) of filtered water to a rolling boil in a kettle or pot (about 5 minutes).
  2. Place 4 black tea bags into a large heatproof pitcher and pour boiling water over them. Steep for 5 minutes until tea is deep amber but not overly dark.
  3. While tea steeps, wash and thinly slice peaches. Set aside a few slices for garnish if desired.
  4. Remove tea bags without squeezing. Gently mash peach slices in the pitcher with a wooden spoon or muddler for 1-2 minutes to release juices but keep some texture.
  5. Stir in 2 tablespoons honey while tea is still warm to dissolve. Adjust sweetness to taste.
  6. Let tea cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 1 hour to chill and meld flavors.
  7. Serve over ice cubes, garnished with reserved peach slices and fresh mint leaves if desired.

Notes

Do not squeeze tea bags after steeping to avoid bitterness. Use ripe peaches for best flavor and texture. Chill tea for at least 1 hour to allow flavors to meld. For less pulp, strain tea before chilling. Adjust sweetness gradually. Homemade peach ice cubes add a nice touch. Store in sealed container in fridge up to 3 days.
