A quick and easy sheet pan recipe featuring salmon glazed with a sticky honey garlic sauce, roasted alongside fresh asparagus and lemon slices for a flavorful and fuss-free dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 salmon fillets, skin-on, about 6 ounces (170 g) each
  • 1 bunch fresh asparagus, trimmed (about 1 pound / 450 g)
  • 3 tablespoons (60 ml) raw honey
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 large lemon, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) soy sauce or tamari (for gluten-free)
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, freshly cracked, to taste
  • Optional: red pepper flakes, fresh parsley or dill for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a large rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together honey, minced garlic, soy sauce, and olive oil until glossy and slightly thick, about 5 minutes.
  3. Trim the woody ends off the asparagus. Lay asparagus on one side of the lined baking sheet. Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Toss gently to coat.
  4. Arrange salmon fillets skin-side down on the other side of the baking sheet. Pat dry with paper towels.
  5. Brush or spoon the honey garlic glaze generously over each salmon fillet, covering tops and sides. Tuck lemon slices under and around the salmon pieces.
  6. Roast in the oven on the center rack for 12-15 minutes, until salmon flakes easily with a fork and reaches an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C). Asparagus should be tender and slightly caramelized.
  7. Optional: For a caramelized finish, broil for the last 2 minutes, watching closely to avoid burning.
  8. Remove from oven and let rest for 3 minutes. Garnish with fresh herbs if desired and serve warm.

Notes

Pat salmon dry before glazing to help the glaze stick better. If glaze is too runny, add more honey to thicken. For thicker asparagus stalks, slice lengthwise for even roasting. Watch closely if broiling to avoid burning. Room temperature salmon cooks more evenly. Leftovers keep well refrigerated for up to 2 days; reheat gently in a low oven to maintain moisture.
