A simple, energizing morning drink made with pink Himalayan salt, fresh lemon juice, honey, and warm water that hydrates and refreshes without caffeine.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/4 teaspoon pink Himalayan salt
  • Juice of 1 medium lemon (about 2 tablespoons or 30 ml)
  • 1 teaspoon raw honey (or to taste)
  • 8 ounces (240 ml) filtered warm water (around 110°F/43°C)

Instructions

  1. Heat 8 ounces (240 ml) of filtered water until warm but not boiling (around 110°F/43°C).
  2. Roll a medium lemon on the counter to loosen juice, cut in half, and extract about 2 tablespoons (30 ml) of fresh lemon juice.
  3. In a glass or mug, add 1/4 teaspoon of pink Himalayan salt.
  4. Pour in the fresh lemon juice, then add 1 teaspoon of raw honey. Adjust honey to taste.
  5. Pour the warm water into the glass and stir vigorously until the salt and honey are completely dissolved.
  6. Taste and adjust sweetness or saltiness as desired.
  7. Enjoy immediately, preferably on an empty stomach or before breakfast.

Notes

Use warm water around 110°F to preserve honey enzymes and avoid bitterness from lemon. Use fine-grain pink Himalayan salt for better dissolution. Adjust sweetness and saltiness to taste. Fresh lemon juice is preferred over bottled. For vegan option, substitute honey with maple syrup or agave nectar.
