A quick and easy creamy crab dip perfect for last-minute entertaining, combining cream cheese and crab meat for a luscious, tangy, crowd-pleasing appetizer.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 8 ounces crab meat, canned or fresh (imitation crab can be used)
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • 2 stalks green onions, finely sliced
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Pinch of crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
  • Assorted crackers, pita chips, or fresh veggies for serving

Instructions

  1. Soften the cream cheese by letting it sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes or microwave in 10-second bursts until soft but not melted.
  2. In a mixing bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese and sour cream until smooth and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes with a hand mixer.
  3. Stir in garlic powder, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, and fresh lemon juice until well combined.
  4. Gently fold in the crab meat and sliced green onions, being careful not to break up the crab lumps too much.
  5. Add grated Parmesan cheese and blend until just combined.
  6. Taste and add crushed red pepper flakes or more soy sauce if desired. Adjust salt only if necessary.
  7. Serve immediately or chill in the fridge for 15-30 minutes to let flavors meld and thicken.
  8. Optional: For a warm dip, bake in a preheated 350°F (175°C) oven for 15 minutes until bubbly and lightly golden on top.

Notes

Ensure cream cheese is well softened for a smooth texture. Gently fold crab meat to keep lumps intact. Can be served warm or cold. Use dairy-free alternatives for a dairy-free version. For a spicy kick, add sriracha or jalapeños. Leftovers keep well refrigerated for up to 3 days.
