A quick and easy frozen lemonade recipe that blends fresh lemon juice, sugar, water, and ice into a perfectly balanced, icy, and refreshing summer drink.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 medium-sized fresh lemons, freshly squeezed
  • 3/4 cup (150 grams) granulated sugar
  • 2 cups (480 ml) cold water
  • 3 cups (about 450 grams) ice cubes
  • Optional: a small handful of fresh mint leaves
  • Optional: lemon slices for garnish

Instructions

  1. Roll each lemon firmly on the counter before cutting to release more juice. Use a juicer to extract about 1 cup (240 ml) of fresh lemon juice. Remove seeds but keep pulp if desired. (Time: 5 minutes)
  2. In your blender, combine 3/4 cup (150 g) granulated sugar and 2 cups (480 ml) cold water. Blend briefly for about 10 seconds to partially dissolve the sugar. (Time: 1 minute)
  3. Pour the freshly squeezed lemon juice into the blender, then add 3 cups (about 450 g) of ice cubes. If using, add a few mint leaves now. (Time: 1 minute)
  4. Pulse the blender in short bursts until the ice breaks down and the mixture turns frothy and smooth, about 30 to 45 seconds. Avoid over-blending. (Time: 1 minute)
  5. Taste the lemonade and adjust sweetness or texture as needed by adding a teaspoon of sugar or a drizzle of honey and blending briefly, or adding a splash of cold water to loosen. (Time: 2 minutes)
  6. Serve immediately in tall glasses, garnished with lemon slices or mint sprigs.

Notes

Use ripe lemons and roll them before juicing for more juice. Dissolve sugar in water before adding lemon and ice to avoid graininess. Pulse blender instead of continuous blending to maintain icy texture. Use fresh ice cubes for best results. Serve immediately for best texture. Leftovers can be frozen and re-blended before serving.
