blueberry mojito pitcher recipe - featured image

A bright and lively summer cocktail combining fresh blueberries, mint, lime, rum, and sparkling water for a refreshing pitcher perfect for gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (150 g) fresh blueberries (fresh or frozen)
  • About 20 fresh mint leaves
  • Juice of 34 limes (about 1/2 cup or 120 ml)
  • 1/4 cup (50 g) white granulated sugar (or honey/agave/coconut sugar as alternatives)
  • 1 cup (240 ml) white rum (optional for alcoholic version)
  • About 2 cups (480 ml) sparkling water
  • Ice cubes, plenty for chilling pitcher and glasses
  • Optional garnishes: whole blueberries, mint sprigs, lime slices

Instructions

  1. Place blueberries and mint leaves into the pitcher. Gently muddle with a muddler or back of a wooden spoon for 2-3 minutes to crush berries and bruise mint without pureeing.
  2. Add freshly squeezed lime juice and granulated sugar to the pitcher. Stir well until sugar dissolves completely.
  3. Pour in white rum and stir gently to combine. For a non-alcoholic version, omit rum or replace with equal amount of sparkling water.
  4. Fill the pitcher with plenty of ice cubes, then add sparkling water. Stir lightly to mix without flattening bubbles.
  5. Garnish with whole blueberries, lime slices, and mint sprigs. Serve immediately in tall glasses over ice.

Notes

Muddle gently to avoid bitterness from mint and over-pureeing blueberries. Use fresh lime juice for best flavor. Keep sparkling water very cold before mixing to maintain fizz. Chill pitcher before use for longer-lasting cold. Prepare muddled mixture up to 2 hours ahead and refrigerate, adding rum, ice, and sparkling water just before serving.
