A visually striking and effortless Halloween charcuterie board that combines salty cured meats and cheeses with sweet candy corn, dark chocolate, and spooky black olives for a perfect sweet-and-savory party spread.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 wheel of Brie or Camembert (soft cheese)
  • Sharp cheddar or gouda, cubed (hard cheese)
  • Prosciutto or salami, folded
  • Water crackers or baguette slices
  • Candy corn (yellow, orange, and white)
  • Dark chocolate squares or chunks
  • Black olives (Kalamata or similar)
  • Honeycrisp or Granny Smith apples, sliced
  • Pretzel twists or sticks
  • Red or green grapes, whole

Instructions

  1. Prepare the surface by wiping a wooden board or slate platter clean and ensuring it is dry.
  2. Place the whole wheel of soft cheese in the center or slightly off-center of the board.
  3. Cut the hard cheese into uniform cubes and place them around the soft cheese, leaving space for other items.
  4. Fold prosciutto or salami into loose rolls or fans and tuck them into the gaps around the cheese to add height.
  5. Place water crackers or baguette slices in a pile or fan them out in groups rather than spreading them evenly.
  6. Pour candy corn into small bowls or scatter it in small piles near the cheeses to create the spooky vibe.
  7. Slice apples and arrange them on the board; place grapes in clusters and add black olives in small groups.
  8. Fill in any remaining gaps with pretzels and dark chocolate, ensuring no large empty spaces but avoiding overcrowding.
  9. Step back to check the visual balance, adjusting items as needed and adding extra candy corn for a final pop of color.

Notes

Let cheese come to room temperature 30 minutes before serving for best flavor. Avoid overcrowding the board. If scattering candy corn directly on the board, ensure it doesn’t roll off the edges; using small bowls is safer. Apples can be treated with lemon juice to prevent browning.
