A festive and spooky Halloween sangria featuring frozen white chocolate and blueberry ‘eyeballs’ that float in a fruity red wine base, perfect for parties and easy to make.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 bottle (750ml) fruity red wine (Pinot Noir or Merlot)
  • 1 cup fresh-squeezed orange juice
  • 1 cup apple juice
  • 1/2 cup Triple Sec or Orange Liqueur (optional)
  • 2 cups blueberries
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil
  • 1 cup soda water
  • Extra fresh blueberries and orange slices for garnish

Instructions

  1. Melt white chocolate chips and coconut oil in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth.
  2. Place a single blueberry in the center of each silicone mold or on a parchment-lined tray.
  3. Spoon melted white chocolate over the blueberries to cover them completely.
  4. Freeze the chocolate-covered blueberries for at least 20 minutes until hard.
  5. In a large pitcher, combine red wine, orange juice, apple juice, and Triple Sec. Stir well.
  6. Chill the wine mixture in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.
  7. Just before serving, add the frozen fruit eyeballs to the pitcher.
  8. Pour in soda water and stir gently to distribute the eyeballs.
  9. Garnish with fresh orange slices and extra blueberries. Serve immediately in clear glasses.

Notes

Ensure wine is very cold before mixing to prevent dilution. Add soda water last to preserve carbonation. The eyeballs can be made up to a week in advance and stored in an airtight container. For a non-alcoholic version, substitute red wine with grape juice.
